On a drizzly June morning near Torpanäsets nature reserve in the Hofsnäs area, I photographed a great crested grebe. I find these waterbirds especially elegant, but they are fairly shy and tend to keep their distance. They can also be difficult to follow: after diving, they sometimes surface unexpectedly far from where they disappeared.
