Jackdaw in Soft Green Light

Jackdaws have a poor reputation: there are many of them, they fly about calling harshly, and they can make a mess of gardens. I still think they are rather beautiful, and apparently very intelligent too. On a drizzly July day in Länghem, Tranemo Municipality, I photographed this one on a wet branch, letting its shape, muted colour and posture carry the frame. People can think what they like about jackdaws, but they are only trying to survive, just as we are.
