Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly Among Garden Flowers

I spotted this beauty in the garden in Länghem and managed to photograph it among the flowers, despite its very jerky flight. There was rain that afternoon, but its orange pattern still stood out clearly. If I am honest, without their colours butterflies might not seem nearly so beautiful—their faces are not exactly photogenic.
