Karlavik, Lake Åsunden — Waves, Wind & Rocky Shoreline | NFE Slow TV #7
A slow nature film recorded at Karlavik on the shore of Lake Åsunden in Västra Götaland, Sweden.

The camera sits low among the stones close to the water, looking out across the lake beneath a changing late-afternoon sky. Waves move gently against the rocky shoreline while clouds pass overhead, occasionally allowing shafts of sunlight to break through over the water.

The soundscape is built around water against the shore, intermittent wind, rare bird calls, and faint traces of human activity far across the lake.

Karlavik also carries a piece of local transport history. A harbour once stood here at the end of the historic Oxabanan, where goods were transferred from wagons to boats for onward transport across Lake Åsunden toward Ulricehamn. The harbour itself is gone today, although traces of the former stone pier can still be seen elsewhere along the shoreline.

Recorded entirely on location with real field sound, no music, no talking, and no synthetic ambience.

Nordic Forest Echoes documents real places and natural soundscapes from Sweden through field recording, photography, and slow nature films. No stock footage, no AI-generated ambience, and no synthetic nature loops.

This recording captures authentic, continuous and unlooped lakeshore ambience — no music, no talking, and no artificial sound design.
